What We Can Do Together
The Issues
UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE
Healthcare is a human right — not a privilege.
In the richest nation on Earth, no one should go bankrupt because they got sick. Universal healthcare means every American has access to the care they need, when they need it — without worrying about cost. It's not radical. It's basic dignity. A healthy society is a stronger, more compassionate one — and it's time we built a system that reflects those values.
We can pay for it by cutting waste, negotiating drug prices, and asking the wealthiest Americans and big corporations to pay their fair share.
IMMIGRATION
There is no immigration crisis — there’s a crisis of humanity.
What we need is immigration reform rooted in due process, dignity, and a pathway to citizenship for those who call this country home. Immigrants are our neighbors, coworkers, and family. They deserve fair hearings, not fear. America has always been stronger because of immigration — and we should fix our laws to reflect our values, not our worst political impulses.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
In North Alabama, more and more young people are realizing they may never be able to afford a home in the communities they grew up in.
Across the 5th District, home prices have soared while wages have stayed flat. First-time buyers are getting outbid by corporate investors, and rent takes up half a paycheck or more. Young families are being pushed to the edges — or out of the district entirely — because the dream of homeownership feels out of reach.
Homeownership is the most reliable way for working families to build wealth and stability across generations — but that pathway has been blocked by rising costs and corporate control of our housing market.
My solution is simple: invest in affordable housing through federal grants to local builders, expand support for first-time homebuyers, and increase access to low-interest loans and down payment assistance. Because in the 5th District, everyone deserves the opportunity to build a life, a future, and a home - not just the wealthy few.
ECONOMIC JUSTICE
We need a tax system that reflects the dignity of work, not just the privilege of wealth. For too long, the richest corporations and individuals have avoided paying their fair share while working families carry the weight of our economy on their backs.
Economic justice means everyone contributes — and everyone benefits. It means investing in schools, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure by closing loopholes and holding the powerful accountable.
Together, we can pass legislation that close loopholes, enforces a corporate minimum tax, and restore higher tax rates on top earners.
FEDERAL WORKERS
Federal workers keep this country running — and they deserve respect, not ridicule.
From safeguarding our food and water to managing veterans’ benefits and securing our borders, public servants do the hard, often invisible work that holds our society together. They’re not lazy — they’re dedicated. Serving the public is an honorable calling, and it’s time we stop using federal workers as political punching bags and start protecting their jobs, their rights, and their dignity.
We must stand against reckless privatization schemes that put profits over people, and we must defend the right of federal workers to organize, unionize, and bargain collectively. A strong public workforce means a stronger America.
OUR DEMOCRACY
A healthy democracy depends on a Congress with the courage to lead.
Our Constitution grants Congress the power to check abuse, safeguard rights, and represent the people — but too often, that power is sold to the highest bidder. Corporate lobbyists, dark money, and special interests have turned our halls of power into auction houses, where access is bought and the public is ignored.
When lawmakers choose donors over duty, they weaken the very foundations of our democracy. We must restore integrity to the legislative branch, break the grip of wealthy influence, and demand a Congress that does its job: governing with courage, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to the people.
WOMEN'S HEALTH
Women’s health is not up for debate — it’s a matter of freedom, privacy, and basic human rights.
Every woman deserves full control over her body, her choices, and her future. That includes access to abortion, birth control, maternal care, and the full range of reproductive healthcare — no exceptions, no compromises. We must codify Roe v. Wade into federal law and end the patchwork of state restrictions that put lives at risk.
It's never been about protecting life - it's always been about control and punishment. This anti-woman movement will be stopped and I'll see to it.
Veteran's aren't "suckers" and "losers." Our veterans earned their benefits — they shouldn’t have to fight to keep them.
From the GI Bill to VA healthcare, these benefits are a solemn promise to those who served. After fighting wars for over 20 years, many veterans return with complex, lifelong needs — physical, mental, and emotional. A robust, well-funded veteran care system isn’t optional — it’s a national obligation.
Efforts to privatize these services threaten to turn care into a profit-driven industry, where outcomes decline and accountability vanishes. We must strengthen the VA, not sell it off. Veterans deserve comprehensive, high-quality care from a system built to serve them — not one designed to profit off their sacrifice.

I don't just understand veterans' issues - I've lived them. And I'm ready to fight like hell to fix them.
HUMAN RIGHTS
There can be no compromise on equality. Not on your gender, your religion, the color of your skin, where you were born, or any other reason that they try to use to silence and erase you.
What we’re witnessing across this country — the criminalization of identity, the outlawing of gender expression, and the relentless attacks on queer and trans people — is not just wrong - It’s cruel. It’s inhumane.
Every person deserves equal protection under the law, the freedom to live openly, and the dignity to be who they are without fear. We must fight back against this war on human rights and build a country where freedom truly means freedom for all.
I’m running for Congress because I believe in public service, I believe in good government, and I believe our democracy is under attack — and I’ve got the courage to fight for it.
All across this district, this state, and this country, young people like me are stepping up — doing everything we can to protect democratic values, defend our federal workers and public servants, and end this war on our rights.
Over the past two decades, people like me have lived through multiple political and economic crises, and we are sick and tired of the lack of action, care, and empathy our government has shown toward its people. I’ve worn the uniform, and now I’m answering the call again — because our future depends on leaders who serve the people, not special interests or political games.
